Steven Kan
Chair

As Other Bets Director at Alphabet Inc, Steven is responsible for managing Alphabet’s investments in operating companies and investment funds such as Waymo, Calico, Isomorphic Labs, Verily, X, GV, and CapitalG.

Before his current role, Steven was Director of Operations for Google Cloud AI. Steven operated as the COO for Cloud AI and led teams responsible for overall business and engineering operations. Steven also led Cloud’s Responsible AI and data privacy programs to ensure Cloud’s AI products meet the highest standards for safety, equity, and privacy.

Steven joined Google in 2011 and helped launch and grow Google Drive, Chrome OS, and Google Wifi, consumer products which are now used by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. In 2014 he took on business development and strategy responsibilities for Android, IoT, VR, and AR where he managed technology and content partnerships for products such as Google Cardboard, the world’s largest VR platform, and grew Google’s AR/VR presence in new regions such as China and India.

Before joining Google, Steven was Vice President of Business Operations at Apture (acquired by Google). Prior to Apture, Steven was with venture firms Clearstone and Redpoint where he helped incubate multiple companies including the online video technology company Ankeena Networks (acquired by Juniper). Steven began in online media at Overture (acquired by Yahoo) where he helped start and grow the contextual advertising business to a $100 million run rate. Steven studied Applied Physics at Yale and has an MBA from UCLA Anderson where he was Venture Fellow. He lives in Northern California and can be found sailing the Bay or skiing at Lake Tahoe with his wife and two children.

Chris Morrow
Treasurer

Chris Morrow grew up sailing lasers and C15’s in Alamitos Bay and is a lifelong kayaker, windsurfer and sailor.  His daughter joined PYSF as a Sophomore in High School and had an amazing experience with both High School sailing and the 420 team.  Chris served as the advisor for four Tech Challenge teams where K-12 kids complete complex engineering challenges while learning about design, fabrication, testing, documentation and teamwork.

Professionally, Chris has more than 25 years of experience in drug development systems.  He was most recently the Executive Director of Development Sciences Informatics Systems at Genentech, where he led a team of ~40 resources to envision and build scientific software systems.  He started his career at the lab bench and quickly gravitated towards robotic lab systems where he developed skills with hardware, software, FDA regulations and user management.  With this experience, Chris began working on informatics systems of increasing size and scope, while building out a talented team who brought a wide range of skills to bear to solve any drug development challenge.   These skills included product management, software development, business analysis, project management, data visualization, change management, training, documentation, and most of all an ability to speak to both scientists and software developers on their own terms.  

Chris’s wide skill set and practical approach led him to be involved with a wide variety of initiatives that included leading the collaboration with architects to design 40,000 square feet of lab and office space, numerous FDA inspections, and the oversight of an operations team that managed a $20M informatics budget.

Diana Psyras
Secretary

Diana Psyras has extensive  experience in enterprise technology sales/sales management for early-stage start-ups in Silicon Valley. Her career pivoted to Special Education where she had the privilege of teaching at the elementary grade levels in Cupertino and Los Altos school districts. She has sat on nonprofit boards and  executive fundraising committees.  She is also certified as a Mindfulness Meditation Mentor/Instructor through the U.C. Berkeley Greater Good Science Center (MMTCP).

Chris Wenisch
Director

Christopher Wenisch is a member of The Club at Westpoint since 2022 along with his wife (Amanda) and three boys (Ethan 12, Parker 10, and Theo 8), who are recreational sailors with PYSF. 

Christopher is interested in efforts that improve community access and connectivity to the shoreline, and finding ways to enhance recreation opportunities in the Bay.  He has over 25 years of boating experience mixed with sail racing teams, casual boating and cruising charters both inshore and offshore with family and friends.  He applies strategy and tactics to racing sailboats in the bay, primarily with the J105 fleet as main trimmer. 

Professionally, Christopher is a biotechnology industry consultant leader with the Healthcare and Life Science team at Slalom Consulting where he supports client leadership teams in developing and realizing their organizational vision primarily centered on strategic planning, product development, and analytical insights for R&D and pre-commercial teams. His work has led him to also contribute to client initiatives supporting technology transformations, site planning and services, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and mega-site strategic initiatives in California and Europe. 

Christopher previously worked with McKesson Corporation, a pharmaceutical distributor and Fortune Global 500 company, where he was the Director of Global Supplier Partnerships managing deal structuring and negotiations, including manufacturing agreements to transition pharmaceutical sourcing operations to London. 

Christopher also serves on a local board as Communications Director for Coyotes Lacrosse, a non-profit 501(c)3 recreational lacrosse organization in San Mateo serving kids ages 6 to 14. 

He holds a Bachelor of Science in applied mathematics and engineering physics from Cornell University with a technical degree in biotechnology and a certificate in finance from University of California at Berkeley.

Tiago Dias
Director

Tiago Dias is deeply passionate about youth sailing and is committed to fostering a love for the water in young sailors and inspiring the next generation of high-performance athletes.

Born and raised in Portugal, Tiago discovered his love for sailing at a young age. He spent his formative years racing as a skipper in classes such as i420, Snipe, Laser, and 470, competing at both national and international levels. During college, Tiago started competing in Match Racing, racing keelboats, and coaching youth sailors in Optimists (Optis). His keelboat and catamaran racing experience spans from 24ft boats to 80ft maxis, and he has competed in numerous one-design classes, including the J70, Melges 24, J24, JOD35, J105, Farr 40, Swan 45, and TP52.

Recently, Tiago and his family completed a half circumnavigation from Florida to Australia, an unforgettable adventure that deepened their connection to the oceans and reinforced their dedication to ocean conservation. His 2 children, both passionate sailors, began their sailing journey at PYSF where they continue to develop their skills.

Beyond sailing, Tiago’s enthusiasm for water sports extends to wing foiling, surf foiling, kitesurfing, and scuba diving, embracing a lifestyle always close to the ocean.

Professionally, Tiago spent over 20 years in the consulting industry, first at one of the Big 4 consulting firms in London, Sophia Antipolis and San Francisco, and later at Slalom where he founded the Silicon Valley office. At Slalom, Tiago held several leadership roles, including leading both the Silicon Valley and Los Angeles offices, and serving as the Global Head for AI, Data & Analytics. Tiago’s career reflects his passion for building high-performing teams, driving technology innovation, and helping the world’s most influential organizations solve their toughest challenges.

Kim Jacobson Wullschleger, raised sailing in the San Francisco Bay Area, is a growth-oriented executive and innovator with a unique combination of business, technology, education and human-centered design expertise. A serial entrepreneur, she has been instrumental in launching startups and collaborating with tech pioneers in Silicon Valley and Hollywood.

A former faculty member and fellow at Stanford University’s Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (the d.school), she leads innovation workshops and incubates initiatives to build high performing teams and inspire creative and compassionate global leaders.

Alongside her business career, Kim has spent 20 years as an advisor, impact investor, and grant maker in education with a focus on advancing teaching and learning locally and globally. As an advocate for the bay, Kim is passionate about climate stewardship, youth leadership, and inspiring young entrepreneurs to become impactful problem solvers.

Kim earned her MBA and MA in Education from Stanford University and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. Earlier in her career, she was a Teach for America corps member in Compton, CA, taught in Redwood City, CA and has worked to close the opportunity gap in under-resourced communities around the world. She lives on the Peninsula with her husband and son, who is an avid sailor.

Kate Humphreys
Director

Kate Humphreys grew up sailing Sunfish and Laser sailboats in the mountain lakes of California and sailing ‘big boats’ in the San Francisco Bay. Her son, Chris, joined PYSF as a 7 th grader and sailed with PYSF throughout high school, going to nationals in his Junior and Senior years sailing Lasers. He sailed on the UC Irvine sailing team in college.

Today, Kate, her husband Dan and Chris enjoy chartering around the world in places such as the Caribbean, Mediterranean, South Pacific and Adriatic seas. Kate is a Past Commodore of Sequoia Yacht Club (2012) and a Staff Commodore of Pacific Coast Yachting Association (2016) and was a City Ambassador for the 34th America’s Cup in 2013.

Kate has practiced law in the bay area for over 20 years and has worked ‘in house’ at companies such as Google, NetApp, Harman, Extreme Networks and Harris Corporation. She is currently Associate General Counsel at Meta, supporting Business Messaging. Kate is a graduate of Menlo College (BS in Business Management/Intl Business Management), where she was Valedictorian and Santa Clara University, School of Law. Kate is a member of the California Bar Association. She lives in Marin County and enjoys her commute to work in San Francisco on the ferry.

Molly O’Bryan Vandemoer
Director

Molly O’Bryan Vandemoer has an extensive sailing background, including High School National Champion, College National Champion, 2x World Champion and Olympian, Molly brings a wealth of firsthand experience and knowledge to the program. Molly grew up in San Diego, CA and attended college at University of Hawaii. After graduating from college, she coached the dinghy team at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. She was a member of the US Sailing Team from 2002-2015 competing at the 2012 Olympic Games in Women’s Match Racing. She took over PYSF in 2012 to help shape it into the thriving program it is today.

Molly grew up sailing with her family in San Diego, CA on their Cal 29. She began sailing in Sabots, moving on to both skippering and crewing in High School (USDHS), College (UH), Laser II’s, 470’s, Match Racing and in the 49er FX. Her sailing honors include Match Racing World Champion (2011), Snipe Women’s World Champion (2011), US Sailing Team Member (2003-2015), College National Champion (2001), All-American Team (2000-2002), High School National Champion (1996). She actively races on the match racing circuit and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with the newer racers. She is a member of the C420 Class Board helping to ensure the youth development class thrives. She joined US Sailing’s Sailor Athlete Council in 2023 to aid in sailors’ voices being heard throughout the sport, and currently serves on the US Sailing Board of Directors. Internationally, Molly sits on the Events Committee for World Sailing, advising on all World Championships, Continental and Olympic Games. She and her husband John have two kids (Nicholas and Nora) and reside in Half Moon Bay. She loves being able to see kids learn the life-long sport of sailing.
